Utah Tribes plus Fort Peck Tribe pass Resolutions in support of Bears Ears

The Fort Peck Tribes recently passed a Resolution calling on Zinke to “respect tribal sovereignty, …(by) honoring the Bears Ears region.”
Seven Tribes of Utah and the Fort Peck Assiniboine & Sioux Tribes of Montana have all passed formal Resolutions of support in the past two weeks, calling on Secretary Zinke to honor Tribes by recommending protection for Bears Ears National Monument remain fully in place. Notably, Secretary Zinke is an adopted member of the the Fort Peck Tribes, which have called on him to, “respect tribal sovereignty, …(by) honoring the Bears Ears region.” We hope that Secretary Zinke will heed this call from sovereign tribal nations to be heard and respected for our deep ties and history in the United States and specifically at Bears Ears.
