UDB applauds new DOI order

On Fri Oct 21, U.S. Secretary of Interior Sally Jewell announced a new Secretarial Order “encouraging cooperative management opportunities between the Department’s land and water managers and federally-recognized Tribes.” Utah Diné Bikéyah welcomes and celebrates the announcement, which UDB Board Chairman Willie Grayeyes notes “will help Tribes everywhere.” Chairman Grayeyes went on to say, “Utah Diné Bikéyah stands behind the Tribes’ request for the strongest collaborative management for Bears Ears that is legally possible, and we are pleased to see important steps like this being taken nationwide.”
