BEARS EARS INTER-TRIBAL GATHERING 5K/10K
Sunday July 22nd
Bears Ears meadows – between the “ears”
Race starts at 7:30 am
Registration opens at 6:00 am for both 5k/10k races
This year’s theme is “Bears Ears is Healing”, which is a celebration of the healing power of Bears Ears and how it brought the nations altogether to protect a culturally and spiritually significant landscape of the five-tribal Coalition (Diné, Hopi, Zuni, Ute Mountain Ute, and Uintah Ouray Ute).
This is the Bears Ears Summer Gathering’s fourth year and as such, it s a important number in many Indigenous cultures, representing many different aspects of life such as the four cardinal directions and the four seasons of the year. Despite an eventful year and working with a number of different and diverse people, we are adamant that the purpose is still the same: Bears Ears is a healing landscape and it brings the people together.
Join us in this traditional and cultural act of running together in a community of all Indigenous nations, young and old, for a stronger and healthy future together!
Start Time: 730 AM for both 5k and 10k Fun Runs!
Registration: Online here or in-person for available packet pickup day-of-race at Bears Ears Summer Gathering event site at main tent. We will need your age, which race you are in, and your shirt size!
