We celebrated Indigenous Peoples’ Day with good intentions, values and gratitude at the tip of our taste buds in acknowledgement of our cultural living landscape. We shared laughter, built relationships and united by healing through indigenous foodways of our ancestral landscapes. The support and contribution towards this fundraiser benefits UDB’s 2020 Traditional Foods Program focused on restoring balance with nature and elevating traditional knowledge through indigenous land stewardship practices. We will be implementing recommendations from our assessment of traditional foods by strengthening elder-youth engagement opportunities based on the seasons, elements and cosmos who are our greatest teachers as the five fingered Earth peoples. We are most grateful for everyone who attended our 3rd Annual Indigenous Dinner who make our food sovereignty work possible at the grassroots level. Your generous support helps us continue our mission to preserve culturally significant, ancestral lands and to bring healing to the people and Earth by supporting indigenous communities.
