Dear Bears Ears Supporters,
We give appreciation for the support of people like you who make it possible for Utah Diné Bikéyah to have Bears Ears National Monument restored. Now we ask you to defend the sacred lands we all love. Not only are these lands significant to each of us personally, but they also have the power to help mitigate the impacts of climate change while making ecosystems, wildlife, and communities more resilient.
Your contribution today will make a tremendous difference in our efforts to advance the protection of the Bears Ears National Monument under President Biden’s Proclamation.
While we hope for ongoing support from the White House, we recognize that our window of opportunity may be short, and it’s going to take a lot of hard work in 2022 to accomplish our ambitious goals.
Every dollar you give supports our efforts to defend the Bears Ears National Monument and capitalize on the opportunities we’ll face this coming year, including:
- Combatting the State of Utah’s upcoming litigation challenging the recent restoration of Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monuments, while also pushing for effective management strategies for both landscapes.
- Pressuring the Biden administration to re-evaluate its approach to oil and gas leasing on public lands.
- Calling on the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) to develop more proactive strategies to address the ecological and cultural impacts of explosive recreation growth in southern Utah.
Bears Ears National Monument is more than just a landscape. It is an area filled with rich, spiritual energy that is sacred to many Indigenous tribes.
We at Utah Diné Bikéyah are determined to continue the protection of this land with your support.
