We wish all of our Diné families across the globe a spectacular Indigenous Peoples Day. Today is a dedication to our elders, ancestors, and all Indigenous brothers and sisters who embody resilience, integrity, and hope as we continue to fight for the preservation of our lands and a better future for our children and all tribal nations.

As we take a moment to reflect on our history, we are able to acknowledge that as the first people of this country, we have been able to overcome difficult instances of diseases, removal from our homelands, starvation and much more. But through the violent and devastating atrocities, we stayed resilient and are able to stand here today and illuminate the brightness and strength as powerful as the sun.

Indigenous Peoples Day, like any other day, is a moment where we all can come together and honor and respect our pursuit for equality, justice and preservation of our ancestral homelands. Today we ask everyone, indigenous and non-indigenous to come hand and hand and share knowledge, love, and support. As a reminder, all of mankind is of the Earth’s soil and to embrace diversity is our responsibility. This is the first step in creating a loving world for all further generations.

We at Utah Diné Bikéyah, give thanks to our Creator for all of the blessings bestowed upon us and ask everyone to please take time today, to come together, share knowledge, reflect and move forward with strength, resilience, and perseverance.
